He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Hike and Frieda Hike (Janssen); his wife Charlotte Heisterkamp; his son Keith Hike; his parents-in-law, Edgar and Dorothy Heisterkamp; and his siblings, Ray Hike, Phyllis Dion and Jo Ann Kroeger.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Brooker (Jason) of Boone, Paul Hike Jr. (Janel) of San Antonio, TX and Curt Hike of Ralston; his daughter-in-law Barbara Hike of Des Moines; his sisters, Marilyn Winkel of Ft. Dodge and Patricia Leytham of Boone; and his siblings-in-law, Monica Hike of Marion and Richard Kroeger. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; thirty seven great-grandchildren.
