He was predeceased by: his parents, Stone Jones and Ida Caroline Jones (McDaniel); his wife Marilyn Jane Reed; and his daughter-in-law Jean Jones. He is survived by: his children, Mike Jones of Cedar Rapids, Rhonda Dennis of Boone, Mary Lou Williams of Boone and Marcia Backous of Boone; and his sister-in-law Kathy Reed. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great-great granddaughters.
