He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Hamilton and Beulah Hamilton (Knight); and his wife Joan. He is survived by: his children, Debra Potter (Rod) of Des Moines and Scott Hamilton (Carol) of Ames; his grandchildren, Rodney Potter, Paul Potter (Tara Yarges), Garrett Hamilton (Shannon) and Allison Fox (Taylor); and his sister JoAnn Harvey of Muscatine. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (703 Arden St, Boone, IA 50036). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Boone Historical Society or to the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Birthplace Museum.
