He is survived by: his wife Patsy Scott; his son Richard Smith (Marcie) of Boone; his stepson Chuck Netherton of Red Oak; his mother-in-law Lila Scott of Boone; and his siblings, Bob Smith (Pat) of Bedford and Fannie Singleton (Larry) of Calabash. He is also survived by five grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
