He was predeceased by: his parents, Osmond McCabe and Mary McCabe (Kreutzer); his siblings, Myron, Carroll, Joan Hennis (Lyle), Kathleen Carstensen (Norm), Clarence, Ramon (Ray), Nona Whiteman (Whitey) and Marian Paul (Dick); and his brother-in-law Floyd Ott (Eunice).
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Louise Ott of Fayetteville; his children, Marcie Wood (John) of Sparks and Wayne (Teri) of Boone; his grandchildren, Nicole Wright (McCabe), Alyssa McCabe of Boone, Harvey and Marty Wood of Sparks, Nevada; his great grandchildren, Addison, Ashlyn Wright and Raegan Cole of Boone; his siblings, Greg (late Pat), Richard (Jan), Lawrence (Aida), Roy (Chris), Donald (Jan), Ellen Chapman (Ron) and Jeanette Kouba (Rick); and his brother-in-law Dick Ott (Rose). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Legion, 1928 Boone St. in Boone, IA 50036.
