John George Tingwald Obituary

John G. Tingwald, 62, of Boone, Iowa, died on Sunday evening, August 1, 2021, at State Center Specialty Care in State Center, Iowa.

Graveside Service: 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 9, 2021, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein, Iowa with military honors.

John George Tingwald was born November 25, 1958, in Perry, Iowa, the son of Jack and Sally (Schomer) Tingwald. He graduated from Saint Patrick Catholic School in 1975. John attended college to which he earned an associate degree in technical electronics and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. In 1976, he joined the United States Army and retired in 2005. On December 7, 2011, he was united in marriage to Lori Rueber. John worked for Lowe's Home Improvement Center in Ames, Iowa for 10 years and retired in 2019.

John is survived by his wife: Lori of Boone; father-in-law: James Rueber of Boone; brother: Jim Tingwald of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters: Ann Matthews of Sun City, Arizona and Jane (Ron) Delay of Bella Vista, Arkansas; sister-in-law: Deb Taylor of Boone; brother-in-law: Jim (Debbie) Rueber of Bellevue, Nebraska; 5 nieces: Megan, Molly, Sara, Robin and Grace; 4 nephews: Cayce, Josh, Ben and Steve; and family friend: Jeramey Smith of Boone.

He was preceded in death by his father: Jack; mother: Sally (Richard) Bailey; sister: Sue Cullinan; and mother-in-law: Joan Rueber.
