He is survived by: his wife Leritta Mackie of Boone, IA; his children, Alison Larson (Jay) of Boone, IA, Holly Snedden (Dave) of Defiance, MO and Brian Mackie (Tonya) of Boone, IA; his grandchildren, Chelsea Schmidt (Jacob) of Boone, IA, Conner Larson (Makenzie) of Boone, IA, Mackenzie Snedden (Josh Huber) of St. Louis, MO, Brady Snedden (Anna) of O'Fallon, MO, Dalton Snedden of Defiance, MO, Kylie Mackie of Boone, IA, Logan Mackie of Boone, IA and Landon Mackie of Boone, IA; and his siblings, Mary Joy Roberts of Rolfe, IA, Anne Walstead of Laurens, IA and Gene Mackie of Cedar Falls, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home (609 7th St, Boone, IA 50036). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (703 Arden St, Boone, IA 50036).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family to use at their discretion.
