He was predeceased by: his parents, John Runestad and Amelia Hale Runestad; his siblings, Alvin, John and Maxine; and his siblings-in-law, Bob and Bernice Ellsworth.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Anne King; his children, Janelle Runestad and Todd Sirotiak of Ames; his grandchildren, Zoe and Arie; his children, Julie and Joe Fay of Marion; his grandchildren, Michael, Callie and Jay Jr. (Cheryl Runestad); his great grandchildren, Anna, James, John, Jerilyn, Mark Mueller of Waverly, Jackie, Bob Connour of Finlay, Sarah, Dave Young of Baltimore, Anders and Carrie Runestad of Boone; his sister Alma Jean Lucas of Wakefield; and also, Katie, Sarah, Lewis, Maria, Joey, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Rachel, Emma, Nicholas, Ian and Mia. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws, and other relatives.
