He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Johnson and Lucille Johnson; his brother George; and his son Michael. He is survived by: his wife June; his sons, Tim (Lynn) of Boone, IA, Stewart (Kelly) of Minneapolis, MN and Brandon (Shelly) of Ankeny, IA; his grandchildren, Lance, Taylor, Jens, Gus, Mary and Wyatt; and his siblings, Ed (Karin) and Nadine. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.

“I am sorry to hear about Mr. Johnson's passing. I graduated from Sheldon in 1967 and although I was not a singer, I was part of several of the musicals. Also at one of the last Reunions, my father, Norm Lensink, joined to choir that Ev put together. He was a very kind man but could also be strict!”
