It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Louise Garland of Boone, Iowa, who passed away on July 31, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn O. Pike and Louise E. Pike (Ginter); her husband Lawrence N. Garland; her brother Bob Pike; and her sister-in-law Ona Pike.
She is survived by: her sons, Dean Garland (Cheryl) of Arvada, CO, Dennis Garland (Kim) of Ridgeport, IA and Dan Garland (Karen) of Solon, IA; her grandchildren, Deena Davidson (Kit) and Drew Ostrem (Jenn); and her great grandchildren, Trey and Brock Ostrem. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID- 19, the family is not holding a public visitation, the family will have a private viewing on Sunday, August 2, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Dorothy L. Garland Family, C/O Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, P.O. Box 15, Boone, IA, 50036, for later designation to the Church of the Sacred Heart and Mary Greeley Medical Center Hospice.
