It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael K. Ward of Bonaparte, Iowa, born in Keosauqua, Iowa, who passed away on September 10, 2021, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva G. Ward and Laurece Ward (Nelson); and his sisters, Susan and Dixie. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Medaris; his children, Kelly Purdy (Rob) of Cape Coral, Nikki Brackensick (Jay) of Mendon, Adam Ward (Jennifer) of Bonaparte and Michelle Philp (Neil) of Farmington, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Spencer Breitenstein, Maggie Denly, Hunter Brackensick, Kalyn Tuttle, Cooper Philp, Kaley Purdy, Kinley Purdy and Noah Ward; his great grandchildren, Xander, Ryder, Lane, Saylor Breitenstein and Fayth Moore; and his brothers, Donnie Ward (Connie) of Donnellson and Jim Ward (Liz) of Oakridge. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his memory to the Bonaparte Fire and Rescue or Farmington EMT's.
