It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan K. Thompson of Bode, Iowa, born in Wesley, Iowa, who passed away on July 11, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elliott Waldschmidt and Edna Waldschmidt (Lickteig); and her husband Dr. Richard Thompson (Doc). She is survived by: her son James Thompson (Junehee Kwon); her grandchildren, Kyle Thompson of Manhattan, Faith Thompson of Manhattan and Grace Thompson of Manhattan; her great grandchild Ellen Thompson of Humboldt; and her siblings, Pat Keith, Rita Jennings (Ted), John Waldschmidt (Nancy), Bill Waldschmidt (Mary), Bob Waldschmidt (Marilyn), David Waldschmidt (Dorie), Tom Waldschmidt (Jeri) and Virginia Thom (David).
