It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Vernon Barnes of Bode, Iowa, born in Ute, Iowa, who passed away on March 6, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Barnes and Viola Barnes (Pranschke); his brothers, Kenneth, Ronnie, Gary and Terry; and his grandson Geffrey Donald.
He is survived by: his wife Myra Renken Barnes (Jan Bryant) of Missouri; his children, Donald Dean Barnes (Angela) of Gilmore City, Larry Johnson of Bode and Delta Dawn Guns of Bode; his grandchildren, Chester, Symba, Hailey, Donny, Amanda, Bryan, Christopher, Ethan and Falcon; and his sister Judy Furne of Battle Creek. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
