She is survived by: her stepchildren, DeAnne Vandiver (Randy Lair) of Carman, IL, Sarah Kakert of Blue Grass, Doug Vandiver (Amy) of Burlington, Darren Vandiver of Madison, NC, Jason Kakert (Heather) of Pawleys Island, SC, Austin Kakert of Blue Grass and Brandon Kakert of Blue Grass; her stepgrandson Max Kakert of Pawleys Island, SC; and her close friend Sandy Murphy of Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
