He was predeceased by: his parents, Art and Bertha Ferkel (Hendricks); his wife Nancy Jane Bohlmeyer; and his siblings, Geraldine, Alberta, Ethel, Evelyn, Shirley, Delores, Wallace, Russell, LeRoy, Ronald and Clifford.
He is survived by: his sons, Randy Lee Ferkel (Riki) of Montpelier and Terry Lee Ferkel of Blue Grass; his grandchildren, Josh Lee Ferkel (Renea) of Blue Grass, Jake Lee Ferkel (Sarah) of Montpelier, Ryan Lee Ferkel of Montpelier, Cory Lee Ferkel of Omaha, Samantha Ott of Buffalo, Erika Ott of Buffalo and Jacob Ott of Montpelier; his great grandchildren, Colt Lee Ferkel and Marie Lynn Ferkel; and his sisters, Roseann Walters (Jean) of Moline and Janice Rowan of Silvis, Illinois..
