She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Shadley and Veral Howk Shadley; her grandson Quentin Bales; her brothers, Lloyd Shadley and Delbert Shadley; and her sister-in-law Rosie Shadley.
She is survived by: her husband Duane Bales; her sons, Brent Bales of Floris, Wesley Bales (Loretta) of Floris and Kelly Bales (Lisa) of Floris; her grandchildren, Kyle Bales, Lindsey Bales, Sierra Bales and Adrian Bales; her stepgrandchildren, Josh Shepherd (Aleaha), Jeramey Shepherd (Tammy) and Justin Shepherd (Bri Lynn); her stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaydance Shepherd, Thomas Shepherd, Oakley Shepherd and Briely Stevens; and her nieces, Becky Rominger of Ottumwa and Cinda Burgess of Ottumwa.
