Sue Schaer Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sue Schaer of Bloomfield, Iowa, born in Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 5, 2025 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Sue departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Sue may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Sue leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Holycross and Mildred Holycross. She is survived by: her children, Esther DeRuiter and Brian Schaer; her son-in-law Craig DeRuiter; her boyfriend Mike Lanman; her grandsons, Kinnick Sackman, Colton Sackman, Marcus Schaer, Nicolas Schaer and Braedyn Schaer; and her former husband Don Schaer.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Christ Church (12627 River Rd, Ottumwa, IA 52501).
