He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Metzger and Karoline Metzger (Knobloch); his wife Evelyn Moser of Larchwood; and his siblings, Ernest, Wilhelm, Paul, Jacob, Elmer, Emil, Eli, Fredrick, Emma Meyer, Freida Mogler and Karoline Wuthrich.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Metzger of Bloomfield, Judy Getz of Washington, IL, Patsy Esslinger (Lee) of Hanna City, IL, Audrey Messner (Bruce) of West Bend, IA, Roy Metzger, Jr. (Eileen) of Hastings, MN, Ben Metzger (Patrice) of Hot Springs, SD, Dan Metzger of West Bend, IA, Angela Birkner (Jeffrey) of Bloomfield and Lana Spencer (Mark) of Burlington, IA.; his sisters, Lydiann Wyss of Washington, IL and Pearline Streitmatter of Washington, IL; and his siblings-in-law, Russell Wuthrich of Bloomfield, Franklin Moser of Larchwood, IA and Janet Wysong of Hills, MN. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
