He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Gibson Smith; his son Frederick David Smith; and his siblings, Carolyn Ensminger, Estellene McClurg, Florence Roberts, Diana Lawson and Ronald Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Jean Prevo; his children, Charity Gooden (Travis) of Bloomfield, MacKenzie Parsons (Brad) of Kirksville and Adam Smith (Lindsay) of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Allison Gooden (Cole Spoelstra), Ashlyn Gooden, Clara Smith, Culee Smith, Brody Parsons, River Parsons and Canon Smith; and his siblings, Keith Smith (Kay) of Bloomfield, Barry Smith (Doris) of Clive, Marcia Lippert (Jerry) of Iowa City and Pam Davison of Bloomfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
