He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sherman and Mary Ethel Nicklin Miller; and his wife Betty Frances York. He is survived by: his children, Mary Snook (Jeff) of Bloomfield and Mark L. Miller of Bloomfield; his grandsons, Joe Hootman (Luke Wagner) of Waterloo and Adam Hootman (Jessica) of Bloomfield; his great grandchildren, Rhett and Remi Hootman; and his sister Evelyn Canaday of Fort Collins, Colorado.
A memorial has been established to Good Samaritan Hospice in Ottumwa.
