She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas and Estella Adell Yarber Metcalf; her husband John Earl May; and her siblings, Beatrice Lamie, Bill Metcalf, Helen Hackney, Mary Jurgens and Betty Loveridge.
She is survived by: her daughter Jodi Jones of Downing, Missouri; her grandchildren, Thad Jones (Lee) of Oskaloosa, Wes Jones (Mandy) of Bloomfield and Ronni Hays (Michael) of Kirksville, Missouri; her great grandchildren, Anna, Jacob Jones, Hayley, Hayden, Hayze Jones, Autumn and Jasmine Hays; and her sisters, Bev and Callie Hauptli (Jerry) of Mesa, Arizona.. She is also survived by her family and friends.
A memorial has been established to Care Initiatives Hospice of Albia.
