He is survived by: his spouses, Leona Mason and Sheryl Miller; his son Toby Turner (Shirley) of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Douglas Turner and Tatum Turner; his siblings, Roy Turner of Ottumwa, Mitch Turner of West Grove, Tim Turner of Jefferson City, Missouri, Pat Potts of Santa Fe, Tammy Troyer of Des Moines and Laura Beggs of Bloomfield; and his half-brothers, John Turner of Ottumwa and Lewis Turner of Centerville, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to his family.
