With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doris Newton of Bloomfield, Iowa, who passed away on November 24, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Sherman and Hilda Irene Wilson Hougland; her husband Robert Lee "Bob" Newton; her great grandchildren, Landon Newton and Zoe Clark; her siblings, Helen Fuhr (Art), Harold Hougland, Alfred Hougland, Phyllis Roe (Vernon) and David Hougland; and her siblings-in-law, Charlotte Hougland and DeWayne Mullinix.
She is survived by: her children, Anna Darr of Bloomfield, Teresa Lamb of Ankeny, Iowa, Robert Newton (Faith) of Bloomfield, James Newton (Karen) of Ottumwa and Phillip Newton (Brenda) of Bloomfield; her grandchildren, Michael Haskell, Matthew Haskell (Joann), Lillian McCarty (Terry), Baxter Newton (Brittany), Victoria Newton, Vanessa Newton, Joe Ades (Scotta), David Ades (Christina), Steve Ades (Jenn), Olivia Hewitt (Josh), Adam Newton (Laura), Brian Clark (Cathi), Kyle Clark (Daylan) and Dillon Lamb; her siblings, Jerry Hougland (Marilyn), James Hougland, Virginia Mullinix and Charles Hougland (Diane); and her sisters-in-law, Sally Hougland and Marlene Hougland. She is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wagler Funeral Home (304 W Jefferson St, Bloomfield, IA 52537). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
