He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester C. Dixon and Ruby N. Rees Dixon; his spouse Dorothy M. Gordy; and his siblings, Virginia Dixon, Bill Dixon and Larry Dixon.
He is survived by: his children, Dana L. O'Brien (David) of Waterville and David D. Dixon (Patricia) of Oskaloosa, Iowa; his grandchildren, Allison Heller (Jason) of Clifton Park, Ian O'Brien of Waterville, Laura Smith (Teague) of Las Vegas and Erin Godden (Jesse) of Bellevue, Nebraska; his great grandchildren, Max Heller, Peter Heller, Charlie Heller, Dean O'Brien, Henry O'Brien, Maeve O'Brien, Eva Smith, Teagan Smith, Violet Smith, Rebecca Smith, Jaxton Godden and Alexia Godden; his siblings, Gene Dixon (Jerri) of Centerville, Jack Dixon (Jeannie) of Bloomfield and Karen Rosengren (Bruce) of Plymouth, Minnesota; and his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Dixon and Sandy Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Reed-Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion, which was always close to Dean's heart.
