He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shepherd and Pearl Evelyn Pherigo Shepherd; and his parents-in-law, Arthur and Jessie Garrett. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Shepherd of Bloomfield; his children, Scott Shepherd (Gail Hayes) of Boone, Iowa and Jennifer Moore (Ron) of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Shelby Richards (Cole), Bailey Shepherd (Kevin Simon), Jeana Shepherd, Rory Shepherd (Makenna Simons), Phoebe Moore and Parker Moore; his great grandchildren, Hallee, Chesney, Zeppelin Richards, Zane and Arlo Strabley; and his siblings, Kate Yochum (John) of Ottumwa, Karen Dalbey of Ottumwa, Hank Shepherd of Ottumwa and David Shepherd (Laura) of Ottumwa. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Social distancing will be followed and masks are encouraged for all services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to his family with designation for a local organization at a later date.
