Nicholas T. Mokas Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 15, 2025, at the age of 74, Nicholas T. Mokas of Blairstown, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Athanasios and Aspasia; his brother-in-law Thomas Tzatsis; and his nephew Kosmas Tzatzis. He is survived by: his wife Aliki; his sons, Tommy (Andy) and Andy; his daughter-in-law Stephanie; his grandchildren, Ari and Skye; his sister Eleni (Helen); his brother-in-law Athanasios (Tom); his nieces, Stacy Campbell (Koskinaris), Dena Mathes (Koskinaris) and Effie Goetz (Koskinaris); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Zoe, Alexa Campbell, Wyatt Goetz and Athan Mathes; his sister Tassoula Tzatzis; his niece Agni Natsoulis; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Petrou and Julia Papadopoulos.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Blairstown Legion Hall (102 Benton St NE, Blairstown, IA 52209). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church (501 A Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401). A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery (102 Benton St NE, Blairstown, IA 52209). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Blairstown Legion Hall (102 Benton St NE, Blairstown, IA 52209).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his church, St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church of Cedar Rapids.
