He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard "Lennie" Brecht and Bertha Brecht (Schmuecker); his son Bryce; his siblings, Floyd Brecht (Mary), Leonard Brecht (Arlene), Marvin Brecht, Bernard Brecht (Marian), Katherine Kimm (Ora) and Evelyn Kimm (Keith); and his sister-in-law Dorothy Brecht.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen LaTour; his daughter Theresa Werner of Cedar Rapids; his daughter-in-law Shelly Brecht of Watkins; his grandchildren, Nikkole Werner of Cedar Rapids, Brittney Danielson (Brad) of Cedar Rapids, Kelsey Brecht of Watkins, Tanner Brecht (Nicole Schultz) of Watkins and Brianne Ratliff of Miami, FL; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Lillian, Georgie and Liam. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a scholarship fund that will be set up in Ed's name to assist future farmers in their education.
