She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Johnston and Kathleen Johnston (Kerr); her brother Gary Johnston; her daughter Debbie; her son-in-law Randy Gustafson; and her great grandchildren, Kristopher Kiger and Amaiya O'Brien.
She is survived by: her former husband Ron O'Brien; her children, Rebecca Buch of Ankeny and David O'Brien (Vicki) of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Melissa Bell (Tim) of Riverside, Kris Kiger (Stephenie) of Ankeny, Travis O'Brien (Christy) of Urbandale and Deborah O'Brien (Billy) of Des Moines; her great grandchildren, Natalie, Hayden, Vivienne, Jocelyn, Evelyn, Jameson and Dominic; her brother Danny Johnston (Gloria) of Nebraska; and her sister-in-law Loretta Johnston of Fairfield. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
