He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Peter and Anna Marie Schilling (Cox); and his sisters, Helen Dohrmann, Shirley Boedecker and Betty Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Selma; his daughter Barb Reed (Brian) of DeWitt; his grandchildren, Adam Reed (Cassie) of Welton and Emily Regenwether (Brady) of DeWitt; his brother Wally S. (Fern); and his sisters-in-law, Dolores Diercks and Bernadine Cornilsen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
