He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester E. Matznick and Winafred P. Matznick (Knox); his brother James L. Matznick; and his former wife Cheryl Matznick. He is survived by: his wife Shelby Kirklin; his daughter Molly; his sister Vickie Miller; and his close friend Chad Buham. He is also survived by many friends and coworkers.
