He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. LaMar and Effie LaMar (Miller); his wife Mary; his children, Debe LaMar, Ronald L. LaMar, John Charles and Mary Margaret LaMar; and his sister Vanetta Vandello.
He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Sharon LaMar; his stepson David Goossen; his grandchildren, Adam LaMar (Whitney), Lauren Crane (Mike), Chris Gamble, Mike Gamble and Hunter Pieper; his siblings, Charles LaMar (Nancy) and Charlotte Coffelt; and also, Ron and Marilyn Perry.
