He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Schwister and Luella Schwister; his wife Ann Schwister; his daughter Julie Grothusen; his son-in-law Mike; his grandchildren, Cole and Ally; his son Jeff Bayer; his daughter-in-law Lisa Bayer; his grandsons, Dylan and Max; his brothers-in-law, Tom, Rev. Jim Layman (Kay) and Rev. David Layman (Pam); and also, Peggy Schwister and Annette Knueppel. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends.
Memorial contributions can be made to Palmer Golf Course, where he will have a bench in his honor on the 13th hole, and First Presbyterian Church of Davenport, IA.
