With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Muriel Slavens of Bettendorf, Iowa, born in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, who passed away on October 2, 2021 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John "Les" and Mildred Peterson (Miller); and her spouse Bobbie Joe Slavens. She is survived by: her children, Jane Flesher (Chris) and Joe Slavens (Ann); her grandchildren, Emily Fall (Kyle), Les Flesher (Lily Bassett), Eldridge, Shelby Pelzer (Adam), Brinlee Flesher (Courtney Cronin) and Bobbie Slavens (Gina); her great grandchildren, Hudson, Sawyer, Lincoln Fall, Ivydell, Elliotte, Crosby Pelzer and Everett Slavens; and her sister Joy Braggs (Bill).

Memorials may be made to the Vera French Foundation or the Crooked Creek FFA (c/o Winfield Mt. Union CSD) in honor of Muriel's youth spent on the farm.
