He was predeceased by: his father Frederick Vanacker; and his stepparents, Linnea Vanacker and Dick Steelman. He is survived by: his mother Jean Vanacker (Dismer) of Moline; his wife Kathleen McCarthy Torres; his daughter Jessica Van Acker of Moline; his stepson Wade Torres (Donna); his stepgrandchildren, Xavier and Tehya of Attleboro, Massachusetts; his brother Greg; and his sister-in-law Ellie Van Acker of Sacramento, California..
