Merlin D. Capesius Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 27, 2025, Merlin D. Capesius of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlin Capesius and Rita Capesius Sr. (Weber); his daughter Sharon; his siblings, James Capesius, Kenneth Capesius and Mary Jo Becker (Rick); and his nephew Robert Watters.
He is survived by: his children, Dean Capesius (Bridget) of Dyersville, Cindy Cerneka (Sam) of Cary and Christy Janeliunas of Moline; his granddaughters, Olivia of Cary, Lucy of Cary, Sophia Cerneka of Cary and Abigail (Kole Stach) of Kewanee; his stepgrandchildren, Lauren, Jeremy and Natalie Baiocci of Chicago; his sisters, Carol Watters (Richard), Sharon Schumacher (Steven), Susan Flogel (Tim) and Barb Gleason (Dan); and his sister-in-law Mary Capesius.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Church (10204 Key W Dr, Dubuque, IA 52003). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu flowers donations may be made to St. Jude, an organization Butch faithfully supported.
