He is survived by: his mother Awneyeh Halaweh; his wife Nihaya Omar of Bettendorf, Iowa; his children, Muna Omar (Ahmad Abu Afifeh) of Iowa, Lubna Omar (Islam Alyafawi) of Iowa and Waleed Omar (Deema Martini) of Illinois; his grandchildren, Khaled Abu Afifeh, Noor Abu Afifeh and Yara Alyafawi; and his siblings, Ahlam Omar, Amani Omar, Amjad Omar, Ayman Omar and Ashraf Omar.
