He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Makoben and Ima Makoben (Bangert); his wife Carolyn M. Lloyd; his children, Jennifer Lopez and Eric Makoben (Linda); his grandchildren, Ashlee Dickinson (Alex), Conner Makoben (Jessica) and Kian Makoben; his great grandchildren, Remington Boire, Owen Dickinson and Paislee Dickinson; and his sisters, Sandra Copley (John) of Blue Grass and Mary Chrysler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Parks Foundation, the Quad-City Honor Flight, or the American Heart Association.
