He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris Martin and Mary Martin (Marshall); his siblings, James C. Martin, Jean Droessler and Del Rose; his daughters-in-law, Ewa Martin and Kristie Martin; and his grandchildren, Hannah and Kevin.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Dunlap; his children, Margaret "Goosie", Kathleen "Beaner", Ann "Web", Theresa, Bridget "Bee", Michael "Moose", John "Johnie Umm", James "Walter Whale", Matthew and Quesir; his sons-in-law, Eric Arp, Tim Erpelding and Paul Knepp; and his brother-in-law Glenn Droessler. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Vianney for a future scholarship at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic School currently under construction.
