He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harnung and Beulah Harnung (Herman); his former wife Kathleen; his sister Claudia; and his brother-in-law Bob Irvin.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Ratcliff (Richardson); his children, Helen Holmes (Dan), Michael Harnung (Tracy) and Paul Harnung (Leticia); his grandchildren, Blake, Emma, Sadie, Spencer (Alex) of Jack, TJ, Brady and Nalia; his stepchildren, Steven Ratcliff and Sharon Wilson (Cody); his nieces, Karen Orwig (Joe) and Kelly Robinson; his nephew John Phillips (Rachael); and his siblings-in-law, Patty Richardson (Larry McDonald), Margaret Phillips (Graham) and Scott Richardson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or to Genesis Hospice.
