He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Kent and Florence Kent; and his sister Susan Bebout. He is survived by: his wife Donna Strable; his sister Peggy Hall; his son Jason (Allisha); and his stepson James Shelton, Jr. (Danielle). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
