He was predeceased by: his parents, C. H. "Cyrus Hugh" McGuiness and Helen McGuiness (Streib); his son Mark; his mother-in-law Kathryn Zilko; and his sister-in-law Pat McGuiness.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his daughters, Laurie Bakkum (Mark) of Cedar Rapids, Kelly Ouverson (Doug) of Naples, FL and Christine Hammes (Shane) of East Moline; his daughter-in-law Karen McGuiness of Columbus Junction, IA; and his siblings, John of Venice, FL, Michael (Mickie) of Hayward, WI and Martha McGuiness of Des Moines. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
