He was predeceased by: his stepmother Agnes Nelson; his siblings, Allan Nelson, Junior Nelson, Marlene Abel and Nancy Powers; and his parents, Vernon Nelson and Edith Nelson (Leland).
He is survived by: his wife Madonna Werthmann; his children, Rick Nelson (Kyle) of Nashville, TN, Doug Nelson (Diane) of Bettendorf, IA, Keith Nelson (Carmen) of Old Hickory, TN, Rozanne Frazier (Eddie) of Murfreesboro, TN and Randy (Kelly) of Ashland, OH; and his siblings, Kenneth Nelson, Edward Nelson (Mary), Alice Stoltenberg (LeRoy) and Patricia Doty-Plambeck. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be directed to the St. John Vianney in Bettendorf.
