He was predeceased by: his parents, Milo Wakeland and Vesta Wakeland (Blake); his wife Patricia Cassilly; his brother Mike Wakeland; his daughter Debbie White; and his granddaughter Nicole.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve Wakeland (Paula) of Pleasant Valley, Mark Wakeland (Jean) of Bettendorf, Paul Wakeland (Lorrie) of Bettendorf and David Wakeland of Las Vegas; and his sister Aileen VanAst (Walter) of Camarillo, California..
Memorials may be made to the Stead Family Children's Hospital or the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa.
