He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Cornish and Martha Cornish (Rhodes); his son William; and his sisters, Kate, Dorothy and Violet.

He is survived by: his wife Elfriede Bämpfer; his children, Evelyn Nazare (Nick), Erika Clough (Denny), Albert Cornish (Rita) and Tim Cornish (Lea); his grandchildren, Tommy, Ricky, Jessica, Nicholas and Jacob; his great grandchildren, Aysiah, Kendall and Dalton; and his great great grandchild Kamden.
