He was predeceased by: his mother Jeanette Marie Verhelst (Meade); and his grandparents, Lester and Thelma Meade. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Verhelst of Bennett, IA; his mother-in-law Peggy Schenkel; his children, Peggy VanDyne (Lonnie) of Tulsa, OK, Kim Schott (Ron) of Tipton, IA and Don Dennis Jr. of Tipton, IA; his father Thomas C. Verhelst, Sr. of Bettendorf, IA; his siblings, Jaylene Taylor (Chuck) of Roanoke, TX, John Verhelst of Buffalo, IA and Brian Verhelst (Lonna) of Davenport, IA; his grandchildren, Chris, Miranda (Micheal), Tiffany, Brittany (Chase), Kaitlyn and Cammie; and his great grandchildren, Ivy, Elli, Leo and Karson.
