He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Gerdes; and his children, Susan Ammerman (Roger) of Klemme, IA, Randi Gerdes (Lynn) of Clear Lake, TX and Debra Halfpop (Robert) of Belmond, IA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and their extended families and friends.
