It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verlyn F. Schmitt (Bellevue, Iowa), who passed away on October 10, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Schmitt (Weidemann) and Francis Schmitt; his siblings, Marie Even (Kelly), Evelyn Lucas (Elmer), Leo Schmitt, Geneva Arlen (Charles), Selena Waters (Dale), Jerome Schmitt (Josephine), LaVern Schmitt (Lillian), Eldon Schmitt (Joan), Luella Hammerand (Virgil) and Doris Schmitt; and his son Steve Schmitt (Mary).
He is survived by: his sibling Arnita Erickson (Bob); and his children, Reggie (Suzie), Tom (Diane), Peggy (Sam), Brenda, David, Penny (Wally) and Tim (Michelle). He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and hundreds of nieces, nephews, friends.
