He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Ties and Clara Ties (Hemle); his wife Mary Ann Ernst; his son Roger Ties; his siblings, Lillian Doldinger (Norbert), Eunice Fier (Joe), Esther Deppe (Vesy) and Clarence Ties (Alice); and his brothers-in-law, Raymond and Benjamin Ernst.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Ties (Susan) of Bellevue, Carol Sprank (Clyde) of Bellevue and Daryl Ties (Julie) of Maquoketa; his daughter-in-law Sandy Ties of Indiana; and his sister-in-law Verna Mae Ernst. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established in Lyle's memory.
