He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Michels and Clara Michels (Gerardy); his grandson Nathan; his daughter-in-law Sherri; and his siblings, Orville Michels (Florence), Maxine Kueter (Harold), Marvin Michels (Rosemary), Kenneth Michels (Orva Mae), Dean McGinnis, Bill Casel, Arleta Scheckel (Milton), Clifford Weinschenk (Dorothy) and Carvel Weinschenk.
He is survived by: his wife LeAnna; his children, Roger Michels (Diane), Betty Bakey, Mary Hinke (John), Rick Michels (Beth) and Jane Steines (Mike); his siblings, Arlene McGinnis, Norma Jean Casel, Larry Michels (Joyce) and Robert Michels (Kelma); and his brother-in-law Clyde Weinschenk (Bette). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren.
It is required to utilize masks and to observe social distancing during the funeral mass due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
