He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Ernst and Augusta Ernst; his wife Dolores "Dee" Wellen; his children, Dianna Lubbers, Jean Laaker, Lori Duccini and John Ernst; his grandchildren, Melissa Ernst and Alexander Ernst; and his siblings, Vern, Bob Ernst and Marilyn Doland.
He is survived by: his children, Ken (Barb) of DeWitt, IA, Chuck (Judy) of Bernard, IA, Randy (Ana) of Bartlett, IL, Shari Beadle (Michael) of Tampa, FL and Cathy Oberbroeckling (Doug) of Crystal Lake, IL; his children-in-law, Bill Lubbers of Dubuque, Kenny Laaker of Sterling, IL, Ron Duccini of Gulfport, MS and Elaine Ernst of Barrington, IL; his sister Carol Agosta of Bettendorf, IA; and his daughter-in-law Dr. Ana Gephart. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
